Remembrance

Like many, this time of year brings mixed feelings for me. Labor Day has passed, typically marking the end of summertime in North America. We reflect on the past few months of fun times and sunshine, remembering vacations, cookouts, beaches, and lakes.

Football season has arrived and Autumn is on the way. Temperatures are beginning to fall, bringing relief from the summer heat. We look forward to the holiday season, anticipating family gatherings for the harvest season.

On a more somber note, mid-September is a reminder of that terrible day in 2001. It seems to be top-of-mind for me more than usual this year. I think it is because of the last RV Life article I published, where I wrote about our visit to the Flight 93 Memorial in 2021.

Let us never forget that day, and always take the time to tell our young people the story. Those who weren't around 23 years ago to see and feel what we did should know and understand.

I am saddened to realize that memories of 9/11 will eventually fade into the history of future generations. For now, please share often.

Always remember. Let's pray for those who still mourn.
