February Updates!
Take a look at what is new at Booksby Press!

January was a busy month at Booksby. On the 27th I released two new books, the fifth Book Culture series book, Appendiculae Historicae and our first micro-miniature book, Seven Secret Storiesbut more about them later.

I have now got three events planned this year that will give you several chances to meet me in person.

1) On February 24th I’ll be set up at the Parma Bazaar from 10AM to 5PM. parmabazaar
2) The Miniature Book Society’s 39th Grand Conclave is in Asheville, North Carolina this year April 4-7 with an all-day book fair open to the public on the 6th. https://mbs.org/conclave
3) In May I’ll be at the Ann Arbor Dollhouse and Miniature Show on the 12th and 13th. https://miniatureshows.com/?page_id=59
Appendiculae Historicae,

The fifth book in the Book Culture series. Book V of the Book Culture series tells of one book’s journey through several collections to finally arrive in the author’s library. Upcoming Releases

I currently have several new books planned or in process. In collaboration with Jonathan Cohen, a book of poetry by David Haskell Cohen is in the proofing stage. We are also working on a Hebrew book, the title of which will be announced in a later newsletter.

I have the texts for the next three Book Culture series books in hand and am slowly working on their composition. Planned for an October release is another spooky book from the pen of Patrick Hansma. Finally, for now, I am waiting on the text and artwork for a poetry book by Victoria Rose.

Touching the Harp Strings - David Haskell Cohen

Marbled end papers for Book Culture books VI and VII by Stephen Pittelkow

Other Updates

I have not gotten any further in offering custom books but it is still planned. Just as soon as I can figure out how to price and list them, I will offer personalization on my blank books in the form of your name in gilt on the covers. More complex but still very doable is the Books of Remembrance project. these books will be able to contain up to 30 photos of your choosing and possibly text helping you commemorate a missed pet or a special occasion such as a birth, wedding, or vacation. While I have no standardized form for ordering yet, you may contact me at [email protected] to discuss your special project.

I am moving closer to offering other miniature books via an ongoing online catalog. It will be in a spreadsheet format, possibly with photos similar to the catalogs issued by Karen Nyman, so look forward to the Booksby Catalog #1 in the near future.
