Summer Fun!
Mid-July is often the halfway-point for most summertime seasons in North America, but there's still a lot of summer left to enjoy the classics, like the beach, backyard cookouts, weekends on the lake, or a family vacation to the mountains.
For many Arizonians however, it is a season for the indoors as the desert heat can become dangerous. Being from the Midwest, I've had to learn this about my new home state in the Southwestern USA. Where I'm from, winter is typically the indoor season, December-February, but I've flipped that now and enjoy Arizona's mild winter months the most.
Then there is northern Arizona where the altitude can reach 7000+ feet above sea level. The high desert around Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon can offer pleasant days even when the mercury in Phoenix approaches 120°F.
We recently traveled north to enjoy a convenient rendezvous with my sister and her family. They were just finishing up an awesome summer trip through Colorado, the Four Corners, and the Grand Canyon. Only a couple hours away it was the perfect opportunity to meet-up and enjoy some great Sedona sites together!
STAY SAFE AND HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE SUMMER!
