Spring cleaning has a whole new meaning for me this month. Upon beginning this formidable undertaking, I found I was in need of something much deeper than scrubbing and decluttering my home. I was confronted with the need of purging within my own energy, more specifically decluttering old/false beliefs I have held onto for far too long.
We all learn from a young age things about ourselves that are not actually true. We have been told or witnessed we can’t do, be, have, want, believe, love, fear, express ________ because ______. They are beliefs that have been handed down through generations, religions, social norms, media, etc. No one is truly to blame for these. They are beliefs that have been collected and recycled from those who just haven’t questioned the authenticity of the core idea.
My whole life I have collected beliefs that were not actually mine nor true. Not all of them were necessarily told to me, but were opinions I collected based on my extremely limited experiences of others around me.
For example, one false belief I am releasing is: to be successful I must work hard, non stop, taking time away from people and things I love, to a point of making myself physically ill. For some reading this, you may find that way of thinking sounds ridiculous. However, for someone who grow up around this as the example, having no understanding of balance and having the power to create everything you want, it’s not that absurd that one would come to that belief.
We all carry false beliefs that have limited us from doing, being, having, and creating everything we desire and deserve. We are the only ones limiting ourselves from the lives we crave. Go within and ask yourself what old beliefs are you are still holding that are keeping you from love, abundance, health, joy and everything else that aligns with your highest good. Then create a new belief to replace the old. This is how we create a new cycle of beliefs to allow future generations to live without limits.
