Dear Patriotic Subscribers, | | Growing up in a very politically active, America-loving family, it was very normal that our parents encouraged our love for our country in many different ways. The biggest one I can remember was through music. From the private school we attended in a small church basement where we sang Patriotic songs, to them bringing home items once in a while that furthered that love. The one I remember the most, was when my father brought home a vinyl album called “Up With People,” by the Colwell Brothers. It was the product of a traveling group of singers, who wished to engage young people in positive global action through music. We immediately put the album on our portable record player and sang along with all of the wonderful songs it contained. From “The Ride of Paul Revere,” to “What Color is God's Skin,” to “Which Way America,” it left an impact on us that we cannot forget, all these years later. But the song I remember the most, was “Freedom Isn't Free.” It was simple, but effective, reminding us that Freedom isn't free, because: “You've got to pay a price, you've got to sacrifice, for your liberty.”
No one understands this more, than those heroes who have given their lives for our country, and their Gold Star parents whose sacrifice is so great. One of these heroes is Senior Airman Tre Parfirio of the 88th Communication Squadron, who was wounded in Afghanistan during “Operation Enduring Freedom.” Tre passed away at the age of 22, after suffering complications from the wounds he incurred while helping to create a free and stable society in Afghanistan. A Purple Heart recipient, Tre is a Warrior and a Patriot to a grateful nation, and for that reason, we are dedicating this Independence themed newsletter to him, and his wonderful father Karl, who raised him well, and keeps his memory alive. Patriot Parents thanks SrA Tre Porfirio for his Service, and his father Karl for his Sacrifice, to America. Please keep them in your hearts and prayers during this Independence Day, and always, because it is heroes like them who protect the Freedoms we have in America!
Another Patriot who understands that Freedom isn't Free, is our 45th and 47th president, Donald J. Trump. The way he supported Israel in their strike against Iran, finishing it with the demolition of their nuclear arsenal, and then a mutually agreed cease-fire between Israel and Iran was beyond spectacular! The best part? There will be no nation building! It will be up to the Iranian people to take down their own regime if they choose to do so, and it won't fall on the shoulders of America. We believe that this is a sound decision, after how many lives of our military have been lost to trying to rebuild other countries. We at Patriot Parents believe that we need to take a deep breath, and understand that if we are to continue as a free country, that the only nation building we should be doing, is that of strengthening up our own! It’s time to get rid of any infiltrators who have come to America to cause harm. The only people who should ever be allowed in, are those with the same goals and love for our country as us. We would not ask completely unvetted strangers into our homes, so why would we allow them into our country? While Trump's decision to back Israel was a good one, because they are perhaps our best ally, it was also in the interest of our safety, as well as our world as a whole! This is the only reason we should go out on a limb like that. But to reiterate, we need to focus on America, as there is much to be done right here. We need to take out any dangerous illegals. Start building a Golden Dome. Work on our dilapidated infrastructure. Reinforce and protect our grid. Build up our military and make it stronger than ever before, and make sure that we are taking care of all veterans who have proudly served. It’s also important that we take back all of the land that China has purchased!
We pray that in this upcoming year, leading up to our 250th Anniversary next July 4th, that we are able to strengthen our country so that we are safe from the danger that the last administration and many others before them have put us in. It's time that we make America the priority, before all other countries. Like we do in our families, we take care of our own first, so that is what we have to do in America going forward! As we celebrate Independence Day, be sure to thank God for all of our Blessings. Please thank our military and their families for all of their Service and Sacrifices. And finally, pray for the safety of those who are the good and decent leaders of America! God bless you all! |

Are You REALLY America First? | | With President Trump back in the White House, it seems that it's become popular again, for everyone to claim to be “America First,” but how many of us truly are? Afterall, if we really believe in our country and wish to put it first, shouldn't we also want to prioritize the things that make our country better and stronger? Like keeping our own lives in order, with our Faith, Families, Freedom and Finances? How we conduct these matters! Also, our actions should always match our words. We wonder sometimes, when we speak to others who wear this “America First” banner, as a badge of honor, if they truly understand exactly what being “America First” even means. What we believe it means, is that our country, and what becomes of it is the utmost priority for us. Afterall, a country is built on the makeup of its inhabitants. It's citizens. So that being said, what we prioritize, whether we hold ourselves accountable with how we live our lives, eventually impacts others around us and therefore our country as a whole. Only in America... | | “Only in America” usually gives a positive connotation, hailing the freedoms that living here provides us all, and some like Brooks and Dunn, have even written songs about it… “Sun comin’ up, over New York City…” Most Americans realize how fortunate we are, to have been born, raised and reside in this glorious nation. For many years, the immigrants who worked so hard to get through the red tape and exorbitant expenses to become citizens of America, understood and embraced this, because so many came from countries who did not offer the same freedoms. But now, because of recent happenings, there is a new way to interpret these words. Case in point...the recent shocking occurrence in New York: An Islamic nominee for Mayor...
