It's Almost Con Time!

This is our final newsletter for DCD 2025, and it's filled with info to help you have the best con experience possible. Please look it over, and if you have any questions, email us before February 20, 2025, at [email protected]. We don't have time to reliably check electronic communications during con, so if you need help on-site, please see our staff members at the registration desk or in the programming rooms. We're all here to help and want you to have a great time!

As always, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being such a kind and inclusive community.  You have fostered a calm, inviting, accepting atmosphere for each other that makes DCD very special.  We appreciate everything you do to make this con a wonderful space for dolls and collectors of all kinds!

DCD 4 is on its way, and we can't wait to see you on the 22nd!

Food and Beverage

Beverages
Non-alcoholic beverages with caps or lids can be brought to the programming rooms. There will be water stations in each room. You can also bring your own beverages or purchase them at the convenience store. Remember to stay hydrated!

Food
The hotel prohibits outside food in the DCD rooms. This rule also protects our rooms against allergen contamination and potential staining or other damage to attendees' property.

Outside food may be brought from home, picked up, or delivered, but all food must be eaten in the hotel lobby or your hotel room.

The high price of hotel food and attendee food restrictions would exclude many people, so the convention does not provide food or snacks at any of our events.

The hotel restaurant and convenience store are open during convention hours. The hotel provides information about its dining options and nearby restaurants HERE.
Please research your local food options so you know where to get a bite to eat, or bring a snack with you!

For Safety's Sake

Luggage and Wheeled Items
You cannot bring rolling luggage, strollers,  large instrument cases, trolleys, or large bags (duffel and similar) into ANY of the convention spacesThese items may not be used as mobility devices. When you check out on Sunday, you should stow your luggage with the concierge or in your vehicle. The weather here usually won't pose a threat to your dolls, cosmetics, etc., at this time of year.  (It's hard to believe that it'll be 100+ degrees in a month or two!)

Doll bags, carriers, baskets, tote bags, and backpacks carried by hand or over your shoulder(s) are totally okay.  The rule of thumb is be able to navigate through a crowd without hitting/bumping others or knocking any merchandise over.   Wait until you see some of the beautiful display backpacks some attendees have made from pet carriers!!!

Doll Safety
Please don't bring more dolls than you can easily carry. If you're staying in the hotel, consider popping up to your room to switch out dolls so they all get a turn! For liability reasons, staff aren't allowed to watch dolls or other personal belongings.
Be Neutral

DollCon Dallas is a safe, neutral, accepting space. Speech, behavior, clothing, and personal items referencing ideology, social beliefs, politics/political figures, religious promotion, or are vulgar, racist, anti-equality, bullying, mean, or rude will NOT be tolerated. DollCon Dallas does not view representation of the LGBQT+ or cultural communities, clothing worn for religious practice, or depiction of flags/states/countries as objectionable unless it violates other policies, such as those on equality, racism, religious promotion, vulgarity, or politics.

Words and slogans on your clothing or items must be positive, not against a group or individual. For example, "Girl Power!" is acceptable, but "Burn the Patriarchy" is not.

This policy includes discussing doll backstories
.

If you experience a violation first-hand, please contact the room manager or registration desk immediately. We do not address complaints made after the convention ends or made on behalf of others.  We can do nothing after the fact or act on hearsay.

We have no authority to enforce policies in the hotel’s public areas.
Social Events

Are you interested in organizing a room sale, room party, game night,  or drinks/meals on or off-site?  Sign up using the form at the bottom of our Room Parties, Sales & Social Events page.   If you're looking for some opportunities to hang out before or after con hours, you can view the list of events at the top of the page.

Hangout and Photography Rooms

Debbie and Crockett Smith provide a quiet space in the Marsalis Room (2nd Floor) for you to rest, work on small crafts, and hold meetups.  If you need time to decompress from too much activity, too many people, or even take a little nap, this is a safe place for you!

Shelly Sisk and Kimi Bost will have props and photo backgrounds in the DeGolyer Room (2nd Floor). They'll happily share photo tips or take photos of you with your dolls and friends! The room and props are free to use.
