ThankfulAnother holiday season is approaching. The leaves are falling, as are the temperatures, and I find myself once again feeling thankful for our many blessings.
It would be easy to focus on the negative. So many things in this life are hard, frustrating, even tragic. I think I'd rather look at
the good things and take stock.
There is truth on the notion, "
if you think things can't get any worse, just give it time". With that in mind, I choose to be thankful in this moment.
We recently started watching a TV show, called
1883. We are fans of the
Yellowstone series, so when we heard about 1883, and that it's a prequel story to Yellowstone, we were in.
The harshness of the 19th century wagon trail across the frontier west is told in riveting fashion. I can hardly imagine how hard a journey that truly was. When I sit comfortably in my RV with modern conveniences like a furnace, air conditioning, and a refrigerator, or I travel 500 miles in a day on paved highways and a cozy driver's seat, how could I ever understand what those people went through to get to
Oregon or California?
So today, I am thankful. Thankful for every explorer, adventurer, and pioneer who blazed the trail before me, finding a pass through the mountains, or where to safely cross the rivers. The sacrifices they made in search of a better life have helped make it possible for me to live a blessed life today, the
RV Life.
